Contrary to some popular beliefs, there’s no one type of Appalachian and there’s for sure no one type of Appalachian gal. The region is, and has been, home to generations of mothers, daughters, mawmaws, sissies, and friends of all types. Independent, brave, and resilient–a lot of times because they have to be. Funny, kind, and generous because they choose to be. All worth celebrating.
